Aisling Cliodhnadh Sullivan (born on March 16, 1984), also known as Aisling bea Aisling Cliodhnadh Sullivan, is an Irish comedian actor, writer and director. Bea first began her career in stand-up comedy in 2011, after playing a few small roles she appeared on Irish and British TV dramas beginning in 2009. After 2012 she had been appearing in sketch comedy shows as well as sitcoms and similar shows. The actress began to appear regularly on panel shows after winning an award from the Edinburgh Comedy Awards. In 2016 and 2017, she was a part of 8 Out of 10 Cats Team, and also a part-time participant on the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. She was born to Brian and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. In 2012, she was the second woman ever to win the So You Think You Are Funny award. Bea is her maiden name to honor her late father. Aisling Claiodhnadh Sullivan was born on March 16, 1984, from Kildare, County Kildare. She was the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan. Brian was a veterinarian for horses who took his own life at the age of three. Bea was three years old, though she was not told the cause of his death until she reached the age of thirteen. To honor her father, she took the stage name Bea and in 2017, wrote an article about suicides and deaths that affected her family members for The Guardian. Bea along with her younger sister Sinead were nurtured by their mother Helen (nee Moloney) an elementary school teacher, jockey trainer, and professional jockey for a time. They were both passionate about horses, race meetings as well as the race industry. In her youth Bea employed as a tour guide in the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she was not keen on the sport of racing as a job, and was a performer.
